STEWART'S APPOINTED EXCLUSIVE UK RETAILER FOR DEFAKTO WATCHES

It comes with great pleasure to announce that Stewart’s has been selected as authorised retailer for German watch brand Defakto.

Defakto are a unique, independent watch manufacturer focused on creating timeless and contemporary styled watches, influenced by the Bauhaus design ethos. The style is often simple and minimalist and this adds to the company’s belief that every single part of the dial design, case manufacture and strap choice has been added for a reason to create something unique, balanced and timeless.

Defakto are part of the family owned Ickler group, based in Pforzeim, Germany who have been manufacturing precision timepieces since 1924 and Defakto is run personally by Raphael Ickler, who takes care of all matters including concept design, communications, assembly and logistics. This unique approach to watch design helps not just in creating a beautiful watch but also a well engineered and expertly manufactured timepiece.

Defakto watch cases are designed and built in-house by the Ickler family in their manufactory; high quality Swiss-made movements are chosen to power these watches and sapphire glass is also used as standard in all models. With prices ranging from £200-£600, Defakto watches display an incredible price/performance ratio that very few other watch manufacturers can compete with.

Having only been founded in 2009, Defakto are steadily gaining a reputation for creating beautifully designed, well built wristwatches and has now been incorporated by "Deutscher Werkbund" - an institution founded in 1907 by the architect Peter Behrens, the "Wiener Werkstätte" and others. The Werkbund has become and still is an important event in the development of modern architecture and industrial design, particularly in the later creation of the Bauhaus school of design.

Defakto watches are exclusively available in the UK from Stewart’s and can be purchased online and in-store.
